Random Show Show 25/10/2012

Yesterday was the UN day. A world celebration people don’t seem to talk about much. The UN is of course often criticised but we really depend on this amazing organisation for many things. Many countries in difficulties have a lot to thank to them!
So yesterday was a special radio show where Bhan ki moon  had a talk with PSY Yes , the Gangnam style singer. Also Stevie wonder and sting gave a concert yesterday night.
All our wishes to Peace in the world!
Here is a short talk about the UN, just general stuff

The United Nations (abbreviated UN in English, and ONU in French and Spanish), is an international organization  facilitating cooperation between the world  nations
 It facilitates:
human rights, and achievement of world peace.
It also contains many sub- organisations.
It’s a platform for dialogue.
The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries.
There were 51 countries to start and there are now 193 member states!  The organization has six principal organs:
and the United Nations Trusteeship Council
Other prominent UN System agencies include the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The UN's most prominent position is Secretary-General which has been held by Ban Ki-moon of South Korea since 2007.He’ll be in office until2016. He was born in 1944.

The United Nations Headquarters resides in international territory in New York City, with further main offices at Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna. The organization is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states, and has six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English,French, Russian, and Spanish.[2]
All nations express their views and are commited to maintain international peace, friendly relationship, promoting social progress, improving living standards and human rights.. All the members also work on fundamental issues such as: sustainable development
Environment
Refugee protection
Disaster relief
Counter terrorism
Disarmaments and non proliferation of weapons
Promote democracy, gender equality advancement of women
International health
Clearing mines
Also governance, economic, social development
And expending food production…

The UN has a radio as well as websites and facebook pagesetc
